In this little gallery, Rastko Ciric made his own choice
of the Fairy Chess pieces that inspired him to visualise them in all
three dimensions, as well in two dimensional diagram signs.
Some are fossils of the extinct chess civilizations of 'tschaturanga'
and 'shatranj', the others are still used today, for example,
in Chinese chess. The rest are settled in chess problems,
and maybe someday they will find themselves a place in a Noahs
Ark after the flood of contemporary chess.
With a humor and easiness, the author of the 'Ogres and Bogies'
drawings, gave to the abstract chess figures not only aestetic
but also human dimension, in wish that unconventional logic of
fairy chess can iniciate unexpected and imaginative
turnups in other rigorous disciplines of human behaviour.
