THE RUBBER SOUL PROJECT

A MUST FOR ALL BEATLES FANS

FOR THE BEATLES FANS WHO ARE NOT ENOUGH WITH
THE EXISTING BEATLES SONGS!
PUZZLE YOURSELF AND YOUR FRIENDS!

The nuttiest concept ever!
THE RUBBER SOUL PROJECT
An imaginary Beatles-album
15 original songs made after the titles of some unreleased Beatles tracks.

Lyrics GORAN SKROBONJA
Music RASTKO CIRIC

DEDICATED TO JOHN, PAUL, GEORGE AND RINGO,
ON THE 30th ANNIVERSARY OF THE "RUBBER SOUL" LP

This nostalgic project is a collection of "re-invented" unknown Beatles songs,
composed in their style and performed with the old instruments and equipment
in order to get the sound of the Sixties.

"Nobody has ever heard those "lost" songs, and we got an idea to "reconstruct"
them ourselves, since only the titles were listed in some books. Titles are the only
Beatles-made stuff here. We were impatient to hear those songs,
so we thought them up." (authors)

Credits

The producers of the 'Rubber Soul Project' and the members of the band were Nebojsa Ignjatovic, professor of double-bass at the University of Arts, Belgrade, and Miroslav Cvetkovic, bass-guitar player at the famous Yugoslav music group »Bajaga & Instructors«. The later was also the recording engeneer. Cedomir Macura played drums and sang the leading vocal in the 'When I Come to Town'.
In Belgrade, an audio tape edition was published in March 1996 by RTS Records, the biggest publishing company in Yugoslavia as a licence edition, and it provoked good critics and surprisingly emotive reactions both from music critics (No. 1 on Album Top Chart) and from the audience of all ages. An article about the project was published in the 'Billboard' magazine (April 6th 1996).
There are demo-versions of fourteen new songs composed in the same manner, so the next album is planned to be recorded
.

'RUBBER SOUL' NOVELLA

The lyrics for the songs were written by Goran Skrobonja, one of the leading Yugoslav SF/horror fiction writters and translators from English. The project is followed with the short story (novella by Goran Skrobonja named 'Rubber Soul' which goes together with the CD.
It had easily won at the annual national competition for SF, fantasy and horror fiction in 1993; in 1994. it was awarded with 'Lazar' prize as the best short novel in the previous year.
